Risco R-II is excited to welcome students to the Risco Alumni Library for a new year of reading, learning, and discovery! The library is designed to give students a welcoming space where they can explore new interests, strengthen their reading skills, and develop a lifelong love of books.
Students will visit the library weekly on a rotating schedule or at a time designated by their classroom teacher. During library visits, students will listen to stories, learn research skills, select books to enjoy at home, and learn how to care for and organize library resources. Kindergarten and first-grade students may check out one book at a time, while students in grades 2–6 may check out up to two books.
Families play an important role in helping us keep our library collection available for all students. We encourage students to keep library books in a safe place at home, handle them with clean hands, and return them on time so other students can enjoy them too.
We are looking forward to seeing what our Tigers discover in the library this year. Thank you to our families and staff for supporting our students’ reading journeys and helping us build a strong culture of literacy at Risco R-II. Readers are leaders!
